The face and neck lift procedure is commonly performed as a day procedure, where the patient goes home the same day. Swelling and bruising is visible for about 2 weeks, so it may be necessary to take this much time off work before looking more presentable to the public again. Fine stitches are used, for almost invisible scars, and these are removed 1 week after surgery. It is recommended for the first few days after the surgery, to sleep slightly head up, perhaps on 2-3 pillows, to minimise any swelling or bleeding after the surgery.
