Meet Dr Rita Daaboul M.B.B.S (Syd), F.R.A.C.S, F.A.C.C.S
Dr. Rita Daaboul is a highly skilled and experienced Australian
Female Consultant General Surgeon in Dubai, who is triple qualified having specialized initially in
General Surgery, and then subspecialized in both
Breast Surgery as well as
Cosmetic Surgery. She is of Lebanese heritage, so that she is
fluent in both English and Arabic. She moved to Dubai in early 2019 for family reasons, after a career of more than 15 years as a General Surgeon in Sydney Australia, where she was practicing in General Surgery, Breast Surgery, as well as Cosmetic Surgery. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, as well as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery, with an exemplary record. She is highly ethical, honest, an excellent communicator, and a great patient advocate.
Credentials:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), The University of Sydney 1997
- Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) 2005
- Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery (FACCS) 2010
Her extensive training is outlined in the post – nominal qualifications after her name: M.B.B.S (Syd), which means she completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Sydney University (1997) after 6 years of undergraduate study, followed by 8 years of further training to obtain her F.R.A.C.S. or Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. This includes at least 2 years of mandatory training as an intern, and then resident, before undertaking a further minimum of 4 years of accredited training in general surgery, followed by 2 years of Breast Surgery subspecialty training, only after being successfully selected from a very competitive and elite cohort of medical graduates.
This is the only recognised pathway for accredited surgical training in Australia. As such, the F.R.A.C.S. is a very highly regarded and prestigious qualification to obtain, as it outlines many years of training and examination, prior to being allowed to practice independently as a surgeon. The equivalent surgical qualification from the United Kingdom is the F.R.C.S., and the one from the USA is F.A.C.S.
Since completing her core surgical Fellowship, Dr Rita pursued rigorous training in all aspects of cosmetic surgery. She chose to devote a further 4 years to train specifically in cosmetic surgery, including a second Fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery. Now, after more than 15 years’ experience in the field, she brings her patients all the experience and expertise for them to approach her with absolute confidence, knowing that they are in good hands.
