Some patients may feel more comfortable and may request to have an all-female theatre team. That means, from surgeon, to surgical assistant, to anesthetist, to nursing staff – the whole team on the day of surgery may be made up of female members only.
This is offered to female patients, by request in the attempt to maximise comfort during, what are at times, quite intimate procedures.
